There are certain words in the English lexicon that simply should not be linked when referring to a Veteran...Homeless, Suicide and Hunger are words that have often become as synonymous in the profile of post service members as the words Duty, Honor and Courage were while in service. In asking the question what can we do to help erase those words from the profiles of the thousands of Veterans in crisis, the answer was easy...just share our pride and passion.

Whether it be time taken to pen pal a lonely Veteran, donating an old cell phone, sponsoring a meal or simply making a purchase from a business or organization missioned to aid veterans, we are actively serving by sharing.  VETISH was visioned and created during the greatest crisis of our Lifetime, COVID-19. A time where the number of Veterans suffering from Depression, PTSD, homelessness, unemployment and food insecurity was beginning to increase at an all time high.   After reaching out to a local food bank to purchase food to feed 500 local Veterans and families with a 300.00 grant I had received, I was told that I needed 10,000.00 for just one giveaway.  I left feeling helpless.  

Knowing that the Pandemic Crisis was causing financial challenges for so many, I didn’t want to ask for donations without giving something in return.  I began using my own money to produce items to share with anyone who shared their resources with me to aide a Veteran or Veteran Family in need.  The need and vision has since grown immeasurably and so has the production of merchandise, services and resources offered by VETISH. VETISH has as its President and CEO an Army Veteran who proudly committed 23 years of service while completing three college degrees as well as being proudly reared by a 30 year Army Veteran Parent that served three tours of duty overseas and after retirement became a High School Educator.
